We were proud to have been selected to undertake the monumental task of constructing Canada's largest project ever completed in the north, the Ekati Mine, which also happened to be the country's first diamond mine.
Our scope of work encompassed the construction of various facilities including a truck maintenance facility, shop warehouse, and office complex. Additionally, we built essential structures such as a warming shed, A-frame coarse ore storage building, camp services building, a three-story main security building, and a 22-megawatt power plant.
Throughout the initial construction phase, we established a strong and collaborative partnership with BHP, resulting in a strategic alliance for all of the diamond mine’s on-going maintenance and capital construction. This alliance was a testament to the quality of our work and the trust we earned.
We took great pride in successfully completing this historic undertaking, and in doing so, set new benchmarks in the construction landscape of Canada's north.
