Cactus Club Café

Calgary, Alberta

Project Description

The Cactus Club Café in Calgary’s Crowfoot Crossing is a prime example of how Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) can revolutionize a project when fully embraced by the team and the owner representative.

The project was put on hold for two long years due to the pandemic, so when it was finally able to move forward our Special Projects team worked with the utmost efficiency. VDC played a critical role in the successful delivery of the project by taking a pro-active approach to planning.

A virtual twin of the 9,828 sq.ft. building was created, with trade partners then being engaged in finding and eliminating errors early in the process, before construction began. This reduced re-work and overall costs, and led to a faster build time. The final result of the collaborative VDC process speaks for itself. With nearly 300 seats, an enclosed patio, and exterior take-out window accommodating the new diner demands coming out of the pandemic, the stunning new Cactus Club Café opened its doors to guests on-schedule.
