Operations Smelter Recycling Building

Trail, British Columbia

Project Description

Clark Builders successfully completed the design-build contract for the Smelter Recycle Building located at Teck Trail Operations' brownfield site.

The primary objective of the project was to develop a facility that would effectively reduce fugitive dust emissions in the Beach area of Teck Trail Operations.

The construction process involved various disciplines, including earthworks, mechanical engineering, electrical systems, pre-engineered buildings, pre-cast concrete, and cast-in-place concrete.

The project made innovative use of pre-cast foundation walls and a frameless stress skin building, resulting in a significant reduction in the project's overall duration.
