NAIT Parkade

The Parkade at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) required a building constructed with future integration and expansion in mind. The five-storey, above grade parkade holds 985 cars, and is a scissor (butterfly) structure made of approximately 10,000 cubic meters of cast-in-place concrete, formed and finished by Clark Builders own team.

To enhance the visual appeal to this highly functional structure, we incorporated several design elements along its perimeter. The exterior contains decorative precast concrete panels, complemented by integrated lighting. There are three stair towers built of structural steel splitface block, glass block, and glazing. Additionally, architectural metal fins were integrated to seamlessly blend the metal panels the west stair tower at the double elevators.

The building is designed for future integration of the NAIT Parkade with two pedways ensuring its functionality and convenience. One pedway will connect to the main entry at the west stair tower, while the other pedway will extend from the east stair tower, ensuring enhanced accessibility and ease of movement within the surrounding campus. We leveraged our expertise in cast-in-place concrete for the successful completion of the NAIT Parkade.
