The LJ Welding project required the construction and placement of a Butler pre-engineered building and a two-storey conventional steel wood-frame office. The 12,000 square foot shop is attached to a two-storey office building and a single-storey shop amenity area. Clark Builders worked within a tight project footprint of no more than 1 foot of clearance on two of the property lines, which added to the complexity of the project. The Clark Builders team also ensured that the existing concrete slab was able to support the heavy equipment that would accompany the four newly installed cranes. Two of the four cranes are 20 tonne, and the other two are 10 tonne, and each has a 30 foot clear hook height.
From the onset of the project, it was critical to work closely with the designers, to review submittals, and to order long-lead items early as supply chain issues threatened to impact the schedule. With effective planning and coordination, the Clark Builders team delivered this project ahead of schedule, despite delays on receiving the overhead door and fire-rated glass.
